Scheduled Sequence Triggers

About

Devices with SyncCore, such as RidePlayer, V16X, and BinloopX, support scheduling sequence starts, stops, and pauses dynamically via commands sent to the device from an external control system.

These Scheduled Sequence Trigger actions are associated with an extremely accurate time stamp, allowing for precision control of the sequences on your device. Because these triggers are scheduled via time, this feature requires that a device have SyncCore technology, and be locked to a sync source that provides Time Lock (PTP, GPS, or NTP).

ScriptOS, the real-time operating system running on your Alcorn McBride device, always starts sequence execution on a frame clock boundary, to align show cadence with video and audio devices (see About ScriptOS for more details on ScriptOS). If you provide a timestamp in your Scheduled Sequence Trigger that is not aligned to a frame edge time, the trigger will be executed on the nearest frame edge to the specified time.

All times are specified as PTP style timestamps relative to the epoch. See API Reference for detailed command reference.

Common applications for Scheduled Sequence Triggers include attractions where supervisory systems need to schedule out a series of precise actions seconds (or milliseconds) in the future, and might be canceling, modifying, or adding new actions as conditions change.

The feature is not intended for calendar type scheduling, like starting a sequence on every Monday at 8PM. Standard sequence triggers are better suited for that purpose.

Monitoring triggers

When connected in Live Mode, WinScript Live can monitor any pending or recently executed Scheduled Sequence Triggers on a device. Under "Live Dashboard", choose "Scheduled Triggers" to view the Schedule Sequence Trigger dashboard. From here, you can Add, Delete or Modify triggers, and view any triggers that were added while the dashboard was active.
